We finally had the chance to try The Greek Bar, and we absolutely loved it! We were regulars at Tarbouch for years, so we were sad to see it close. When we learned this restaurant would still offer the same style of fresh Mediterranean cuisine, we couldn't wait to give it a try. The décor is subtle, tasteful, and fits the atmosphere perfectly. We sat at the bar, enjoyed chatting with the staff, and were lucky enough to meet the owner, Daphne, during our visit. Everything we ordered was fantastic! We especially loved the Pikilia, the Greek-style fried chicken, the Greek potatoes, and the chicken skewer. To top it all off, we finished with the baklava, which was fresh, perfectly moist, and absolutely delicious. The food was outstanding, and Daphne and her team made us feel so welcome. If you're looking for Mediterranean food, The Greek Bar is a great option, with a relaxed atmosphere and a nice patio area. We ordered the dips sampler, Pikilia ,(split pea, whipped potato, and whipped feta) and honestly, you can’t go wrong with any of the dips. The grilled octopus was tender, though the ends were slightly burnt. The sea bass was also a generous portion. If you enjoy simple, well-prepared fish that isn’t overpowered by breading or heavy sauces, this dish is for you. It was perfectly cooked and deboned for the most part, though there were still a few small bones to watch out for. Overall, great experience!

The greek bar might just be one of my favorite restaurants in Austin. Ordering off the brunch menu we got: The lamb skewer, Tiropita (cheese pie), dip trio (whipped feta, roasted eggplant, and potato), as well as ‘Its all greek to me’. Every single dish was flavorful, refreshing, unique, and incredibly tasty. It’s a great place to bring your friends and family. Also, super easy to get a reservation considering how packed everywhere in Austin is! Would 100% recommend you try The Greek Bar!!

Outstanding, authentic Greek experience. We loved everything and it reminded us of our trip to Greece. The Greek White and Rosé wines were perfect. All the food was delicious, made fresh on site, and wonderful. Everything from the fresh warm pita and whipped feta, Greek (feta brined) fried chicken, spanokopita, and octopus impressed. The fried cheese and baklava were my standouts, but everything was great! The best baklava we've ever had. Melts in your mouth. The service matched the food and everyone was super attentive in just the right way. We will definitely come back and recommend it highly! So glad we came here🙌

A great addition to the Greek scene. Food spot on for flavor, freshness & authenticity. Cocktails were imaginative. Trio of dips spot on with homemade pita. Calamari & octopus perfectly cooked & flavored. Skip the zucchini which fell flat. Mains of lamb, fried chicken, lavraki (fish) & moussaka were all perfect. Moussaka was the best I’ve had outside my own kitchen. Definitely will be back.
